History and Birding Tour

Join in the tenth annual Vanport Mosaic Festival for a History and Birding walking tour. Local archivist Marti Clemmons and Birdhers facilitator Bo Lyons will lead a walk that weaves together the past and present through bird watching at Force Lake in North Portland. Force Lake is a current local bird watching location and a physical remnant of Oregon’s once second largest city, Vanport. Vanport was destroyed in a catastrophic flood on May 30, 1948. Learn more about this important history and birds to gain more perspective on the place we live.

Registration is required, get your tickets here.
